The Cromer & North Norfolk Model Railway Club was formed following an inaugural meeting held on 23rd February 2022.  At that meeting it was agreed that we would construct a multi-gauge layout from scratch. It was to consist of eight 4ft x 2ft boards linked together to form a loop. Initially working Club Nights were held twice a month, but it soon became obvious that members were very keen to spend more time building the new layout, so Club Nights became a weekly event, and still remain so to this day.

After further discussion it was decided we would build two separate layouts: a '00' and an 'N' gauge. The former being DC (analogue) controlled, and the latter DCC (electronic) operated.

By early 2025 the '00' layout was almost complete, and it was agreed that it would benefit with some extra fiddle-yard space, so some additional 4ft x 2ft boards were constructed. These would also have the space to accommodate a '00-9' layout.

Have a look at the 'Club's Layout' pages to see how the layouts are progressing.

Today we have around 15-20 enthusiastic members with varying abilities and skill sets, but importantly have a common interest in all things model railway. Some also have experience with working on full size railways, either on modern or heritage lines!

If you are over 18 and are interested in joining our Club you can either send us a message (details are on the 'Contact Us' page), or just turn up at one of our weekly Club Nights. These are held on Monday evenings 7 - 9 p.m. (except Bank Holidays) During August you should check for any postponements due to Town Carnival events.
